Your article this week in The Observer rightly says that the government's 42 day detention proposal is a threat to democracy. So it is. Not because of the way it will be used; it's so obviously futile that even the government keeps saying they don't expect to use it.

It's a danger because it is part of a broader contempt for liberty which marks this government.

I was a member of the Labour Party for most of my life, but have finally given up on them. We just have to hope that the next government doesn't let all the anti-liberty measures stand.

Stop Common Purpose

If you don't know what Common Purpose is, I suggest you find out.

Common Purpose is a corrupt organisation which must be stopped:

All I can say is thank <you know what> for Henry Porter.

No-one else in his profession is single-handedly bringing so much information to light, organising it so well, and presenting it so rigorously and consistently to the institutions that we need to take to task.

It's websites like this that make me heave a sigh of relief, not because it's all being done for us - far from it, and we urgently need to address ourselves to fulfilling our role as citizens - but because if no-one was saying what Henry's saying, and if no-one was doing what he's doing, our chances of success would be greatly diminished.

This site shows us what we need to change. It's up to us to make it happen.

Given the slide towards a Kafkaesque bureaucratic police state, it seems sensible to host an archive of Henry Porter's articles out of the immediate jurisdiction of the UK Government and legal system.

Any chance of publishing an email contact address  @henry-porter.com ?

How about, the unfortunately necessary precaution of publishing a PGP public encryption key ?

Nice site. Would be better if comments were enabled for each article, though.

A country sleep walking with its eyes wide open, into an institutionalised benevolent dependency. But who cares ? Henry Porter obviously does, and bangs the drum that political correctness wants to keep under wraps.
